Profile

The Master’s Program in Development Studies (MSP) focuses on integrating knowledge and expertise across disciplines. Development is not just about infrastructure, it’s about building an inclusive and sustainable social ecosystem. This program is designed for changemakers eager to deepen their understanding and skills in driving more humane and impactful development.

To achieve this, the program offers two concentrations:

  1. Sustainable Management of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
  2. Sustainable Smart City Development

Sustainable Management of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

The NGO Studies concentration is designed to strengthen civil society organizations in promoting sustainable and socially just development. The Master’s Program in Development Studies at UNPAR recognizes that strong, adaptive, and innovative NGOs are supported by critical, empowered, and well-connected humanitarian activists. Through a case-study-based approach and access to extensive networks, students will be equipped with the ability to manage organizations, measure social impact, and develop sustainability strategies

Sustainable Smart City Development

A smart city is not merely about providing technological infrastructure, but about building a city that is livable, safe, and competitive. Amid increasingly complex development challenges, collaboration among government, academia, business, communities, and the media is key to creating a sustainable urban ecosystem. The Master’s Program in Development Studies at UNPAR equips students with the ability to analyze urban planning amid increasingly complex development dynamics, explore local intelligence as a community-based development solution, and maintain a balance among social aspects, security, infrastructure, health, welfare, and industrial innovation.

The program stays aligned with the latest social developments and policy trends, ensuring that graduates not only grasp theoretical knowledge but also develop relevant strategies that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Human Development Index, and Good Governance principles. With strong insights and a vast professional network, graduates are prepared to contribute to smarter, more sustainable cities while unlocking career advancement opportunities in both public and private sectors.
