About the Study Program
The Master’s Program in Development Studies (MSP) offers a learning program that focuses on the integration of knowledge and expertise across disciplines and study programs within the social sciences, including Government Studies, Policy Studies, Gender Studies, Economics, International Relations, Culture, Area Studies, History, Political Science, and Social Psychology. The study of these social issues contributes to the development of intellectual richness that can serve as a reference for the advancement of social science scholarship in Indonesia.
The Master’s Program in Development Studies provides interdisciplinary perspectives covering policy analysis, local economic development, and community development and empowerment. The contexts addressed include government (G), community (C), and business (B), at both national and international levels. Therefore, the triple-helix-plus-community concept is used as the foundational reference in the development of this curriculum.

Vision and Mission
Vision
To become a center of excellence for learning in Development Studies that is sustainable in its human and social justice dimensions in Indonesia, grounded in research and inspired by the spirit of community service based on the values of humanum religiosum, within the context of Government (G), Education (E), Community (C), and Business (B), at both national and international levels.
Mission
- To provide education through a learning process that integrates theories and concepts, experiential learning, and action learning, thereby producing professional and high-quality graduates.
- To conduct academic research that generates international publications.
- To carry out community service activities that build awareness and readiness to enter the era of globalization.
Objectives
- To produce graduates as social technocrats in the field of Development Studies who possess an entrepreneurial spirit and leadership qualities.
- To produce social science research that can be used to address current social issues in sustainable development.
- To produce relevant community service activities and outputs that help improve social life and support community empowerment.
- To strengthen cooperation through sustainable research networks with various local, national, and international institutions.
Goals
- Graduates of the MSP Study Program possess strong academic abilities, enabling them to analyze, solve problems, and make decisions related to various social engineering needs in society, such as environmental pollution, social conflict, gender mainstreaming, industrial relations and corporate social responsibility, and social entrepreneurship.
- Graduates of the MSP Study Program are able to make a tangible contribution as agents of change in the development of social welfare and the improvement of environmental quality.
- Graduates of the MSP Study Program are able to make a tangible contribution to the development of knowledge in the social sciences in general, and to community development in particular.
- Students and lecturers of the MSP Study Program are able to design and conduct research that utilizes the local potential of Bandung and the regional potential of West Java.
- Students and lecturers of the MSP Study Program are able to produce scholarly works published in accredited national journals or reputable international journals.
- Students and lecturers of the MSP Study Program are able to carry out community service activities through relevant and practical programs that have a positive impact on community empowerment and the improvement of environmental quality.
- The MSP Study Program regularly establishes cooperation with institutions in West Java, at the national level, and internationally.
- Research facilities, software, and hardware are improved to enhance the quality of learning and research.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English is strengthened throughout the learning process.
